Rubyripper seems to be doing very well. I have not seen any Mac OS X port. I don't know enough about it to know if it's something that can be brought into an existing thing like Max (doesn't sound like it as best I can tell one guy is developing it). But It does sound like something that could be ported as a separate app should someone be so inclined.
