Ripping iTunes song from a CD

Post by mychrissie » Fri Mar 16, 2007 11:28 am

I burned an iTunes-Song on a CD. Then I tried to rip this song in order to change the m4p-Format into mp3 later on. The Max window showed a CD-name and song-title wich had nothing to do with the song on the actual CD. Then I activated the ripping-function and tried to drag the song into the Max ripping-window. It didn´t work. Who can tell me why?

Have you looked at the Max help file?
It explains in simple forms how to rip an audio CD...

My guess is that the song you burned has the exact time as the wrong one that showed up.

The way that online CD databases work is that they read the amount of tracks on a disc and the durations of each song . . . THEN it compares that numerical data to see what matches. It doesn't read the album name and find it that way.

If two albums both have the same number of tracks, each having the same duration, that's when you get conflicting results.

I don't know why it wouldn't drag into Max though . . . burning an iTunes track removes the DRM . . .
