Hi,
I have a larger collection of MP3, most of them nicely tagged, but some are not. I would like to convert all of them to ACC using Max. What I would like to do is to retain the directory structure (hierarchy), the MP3s are currently in. Is that possible with Max and if so, how do I set the the output file naming field to? {sourceFilename} retains the filename but not the directory hierarchy.
Thanks a lot for helping out and HAPPY NEW YEAR,
Mercator
Retaining Output Hierarchy
Re: Retaining Output Hierarchy
This doesn't answer your question directly, but I would recommend not converting your MP3s to AAC. Since MP3 and AAC are both lossy formats, you will invariably end up with lower quality files after the conversion than you have already.
Re: Retaining Output Hierarchy
Thanks for pointing this out. It's for the car. 320 kbps MP*3 is too much... Any news on my original question, ie is is possible to retain a hierarchy?
Re: Retaining Output Hierarchy
I think the best way to do this would be to create the AAC versions alongside your original files, then use an Automator action or AppleScript (or the shell) to copy the new files to a mirrored directory structure.
