Single track FLAC file without cue sheet

I'm brand new to this topic and tools, so apologies if this is in the wrong place, or already answered.
Of course, the first two things I tried with Max didn't work.
One was trying to use Max to convert a single-track FLAC file 9actually, a bunch of them) to AIFF. These FLAC files apparently don't contain cue sheets, so Max refuses to open them. They open and are easily converted in Audacity.
By the way, the other is that Ma couldn't find any information at all on a music CD - like album name, track names, etc. Isn't this info on the CD? Maybe not.
