Hello,

the options of Max have such a checkbox. What does it means?

Thanks,

It means Max will write the iTunes-specific ID3 TCMP tag, and use numeric genres only for those present in the ID3v1 spec. It used to do more but as iTunes evolved the necessity to work around things went away.

Can I have negative effectes then the generated (FLAC) files are used with other programs?

Max tags FLAC files with "Vorbis Comments" rather than ID3 tags. It's a different tagging standard.

So Max is not using ID3 tags that are either compatible or incompatible with iTunes when you encode FLACs.
