Ripping to several hard disc drives

Post by Dorian » Thu Mar 20, 2008 10:37 am

Firstly, let me thank you for that nice piece of software that is Max. I've got two small suggestions:

1. I know you can already add file type to the ripping path but it would be quite useful to be able to encode to different file types and assign a different hard disc drives to each of them. I for one would like to simultaneously encode to mp3 on my internal hdd and flac on an external one. I'm a lazy guy and it would spare me the hassle of copying the flac files by myself on a regular basis. :)

2. It would also make my days brighter if I could append the disc number to the filename only for multiple disc albums, just like iTunes does. It's not that it really matters but I just like it that way and maybe I'm not the only one. Then again maybe I am.

Thanks for reading such useless suggestions ans keep up the good work!

I believe you can work around the multiple drives issue by creating aliases to the folders on the other drives in the output folder, named appropriately for file type so that Max finds them.

Alias does not work. The files will pause themselves in the Encode window.

Symbolic links do work. Wonderful. Thanks for the idea.
