Unrecognized Error Message--Help

Post by Dcislander » Thu Feb 28, 2008 7:04 pm

I have been using Max for about 1000 CD's now without any problems, running OS X.5.2. I just loaded up a compilation CD in the external drive which I have been ripping from and the disc was not recognized my Music Brainz. Like many other discs, I manually typed in the whole CD artist and track list, and dragged the JPG cover into the art window.

When I select all of the tracks to encode, I get the following message:

An error occurred while ripping tracks form the disc "Sounds of the Seventies"
Column identifiers used with NSTableView autosave feature must conform to NSCoding protocol.

Anyone have any ideas about what caused this, what it means, and how I can fix?

Much much appreciated.

To fix this you need to delete Max's preferences file. I won't go into the details of why this happens unless you're interested, but it's been fixed.

Thank you. It only happens with that one disc--I am ripping others successfully since that one. If I delete the Pref file, will I need to re-establish all of my settings, or will those remain in tact?

Thanks again.

If you delete the preferences you will have to set everything up over again, yes. I can't explain why you would have the problem only for one disc; it's quite strange.

I saved the tracks prior to closing that disc's window. When I run Max with any other disc is works, but that one disc gives me the error. I will try re-inputting the track info, art... and let you know how it comes out.
