sorry to bring this thread back up, but now i got a prob with cue-file either.

after many, many 100% converts from one format to another with cue-files i now have one that i really do not understand.
everything is fine with the cue file. directing to the file with the right name and file-ending (speaking here about ape-file).

still, max simply do not open the file with this text: "cue file can not be opened. target file can not be opened"

but it should, because i can open the cue-file for example with cog, and all tracks are getting recognized and played well into cog.

must be something with max. me using max v.0.8.1, on osx 10.5.8

Does the file named by the FILE line in the cue exist in the same folder as the cue file itself?

for sure. like i said. i´m not new to file-conversion with max and all the things that got to do with it. (cue and target-file must be in the same folder, the file-ending like .ape, .wav, .flac of the target-file got to be correct in the cue file, ...)

still, this one do not want to. i even checked the rights of the files. everythings fine; i am allowed to read and write.

it´s a mystery to me.

Max doesn't handle embedded cue sheets in APE files. What you can do is use Tag to copy the cue to a file, then use that one with Max.
