Max on Linux?
Max on Linux?
I was wondering -- Could a user of Linux download the Max source code code, compile it, and have a working copy of Max on their Linux computer???

Nope!
At least not without rewriting all the GUI, Core Audio, etc. code. Since is Mac OS 10.4 and higher only.

Why don't you just use transKode? it's the best linux app for this purpose. It's very fast and easy to configure, and one of the bests options around. It also can be integrated with Amarok. Good luck!
