Suddenly Multiple Instances

Suddenly whenever MAX is open and I right-click "Send To Max" from Finder, a second, third, et cetera instance of Max starts with the files rather than reloading in the open instance. Max never used to do this. Is there a setting I may have inadvertently changed or what?
