Tiny feature request for iTunes integration

Hi Sbooth,

First, thanks a ton for Decibel, I'm definitely a happy (paying) customer :)

Second, I have a tiny feature request for Decibel. I use iTunes for folder management, playlists, ID3 tag changes and general "organization" stuff. I use Decibel for actual playback using the current iTunes integration. Quite often I add or modify songs while playing music, and I'd love to be able to have a way for Decibel to "re-scan" my iTunes library (similar to how it does on startup) so that I don't have to continually close and reopen Decibel just to get an updated list of songs in my iTunes library.

Would it be feasible to add a small button somewhere to have Decibel perform a "rescan" of the iTunes library?

This would be possible, but I have a question about your workflow. Do you typically quit iTunes after you add or modify songs? iTunes only rewrites the track database on exit,

I usually don't quit iTunes; I didn't realize iTunes doesn't write the track database until it exited.

I wonder if there is a way to force iTunes to flush the DB using Applescript?

I don't know whether it's possible to force iTunes to do this. I can take a peek at the AppleScript dictionary and see if anything looks promising.

If it helps, I'm certainly willing to have to quit/restart iTunes to flush the DB, I'd just rather not have to restart Decibel since that stops my currently playing music.

OK, I've added the feature request to my tracker.
