Hey there--
I’m testing Decibel... trying to import AIFF files in a folder... output from Peak Pro (“Export Regions“). It seems Decibel doesn’t recognized them as tracks, because it doesn’t import anything. iTunes can import the same folder without any trouble, and seems to understand the track/album = file/folder structure. So... what am I doing wrong? I suspect it’s something to do with missing tags...?
Import AIFF
Re: Import AIFF
Even if the files have no tags Decibel should be able to import them. Are the files being imported but the tags are not being seen, or do the files not show up in Decibel at all?
Re: Import AIFF
The files are not imported. But hey -- I found the problem. Filenames need the .aif suffix in order for the files to be ‘seen’ by Decibel. right?
Re: Import AIFF
Yes, either .aiff or .aif will work.
Re: Import AIFF
Now... is there a way to enter missing metadata within Decibel? Or do I need another application? Is there one which works especially well with Decibel? Tag doesn’t work with AIFF files, unfortunately...

The new Tag does: see http://forums.sbooth.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5196
