a newbie query

Post by otekelioglu » Thu Dec 15, 2011 8:05 am

It may be a simple question yet I'm just purchased the program and can not find any form of help file. My query is like that:
I just couldn't figure out from the preferences pane how to use a music library other than iTunes library?

Do you have multiple iTunes libraries and you wish to point Decibel at one in a non-standard location?

You can point the iTunes plug-in at a different library via the "Configure plug-in" button on the plug-ins preference pane. Select the iTunes library you'd like to use. A green check shows a library was found in the location you selected.

I did, but still not working. The icon not turning into green but stays in red. What did I wrong? And also, I could not go back to the previous library folder too! Decibel now has no access to any music. What is the right way to configure the iTunes Browser plug-in? Should I try reinstalling the application?

A reinstall is definitely not required. To restore the default behavior, you can simple delete the file org.sbooth.Decibel.plist in your ~/Library/Preferences/ folder.

The iTunes browser plug-in reads the iTunes Music Library.xml file located in your ~/Music/iTunes/ folder, or the root folder of another iTunes library.
