Decibel crashes when switching CD tracks

Post by Nietzschelover » Sat Nov 19, 2011 2:35 am

Hi guys,
I have no problems playing off of my internal or external hard drive.
And, if I just put a CD in and play it start to finish, it plays fine.
However, if I try to switch from one track to a different one, Decibel either takes over a minute to play the track; or it just crashes.
Strangely enough, though, sometimes, it will be able to skip ahead a couple tracks.
I've tried two different Mac Superdrives.
I am using a 2011 Mac Mini with 8gb of memory, the 2.7GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 running on Lion.
What gives?

Do you have memory play enabled? CD drives are not as fast as hard drives, so the delay could be caused by the time it takes to read an entire track at once from the disc. Decibel shouldn't crash, however. Do you have the same problems with the 1.2.5 prerelease?

Turning off memory play totally solved the problem. Now I can navigate with ease!
I haven't tried it with new pre-release, yet.
If I download the new version, should I, first, uninstall what I have now? Or, does the newer version just "overwrite" itself on what I have?
Thanks for your help!

If you want to try the new version, you won't need to delete anything. It should "just work".
