Decibel Remote apps

Hello,

I play music with Decibel since yesterday, and it's a very good player. Better than Amarra and PureMusic in my point of view.

But something is missing to completely forget iTunes.
The better way to command iTunes is through Remote application under iOS devices.
This is transforming an iPhone or iPad to a very performant remote, and everybody in the family can use it.

Do you think a such application is possible for Decibel?

I plan on adding an iOS remote application for Decibel v1.3. I estimate it will take a few months (1-2) to complete, and a few additional weeks for testing, so my goal is to release a remote-enabled Decibel by September.

That is the plan, yes, although I haven't started work on it yet.

I am new to the 'digital' music scene (vinyl is still King to me though) but I am enjoying playing 24/96 files off my Macbook Pro into the DacMagic3. Once I receive my 10.6 Upgrade disk from Apple I will update my MBP and then download the Decibel demo. At the moment I am using the Pure Music demo. It is okay but not great. It tends to lock-up routinely and it is not all that seemless when switching between tracks.

I do really like the ability to control the track selection via my iPad2 so I that is a key feature that I want to see in Decibel. Looking forward to trying Decibel and really looking forward to remote control!

You can use a VNC server on your iPad to do track selection on Decibel until the next version is ready.

Hi,
Have you released the remote app yet, please.

Also, The new OSX lets you use airplay. I am going to update my older iMac. Can you please tell me how to use decibel with airplay? I use the remote speaker icon in iTunes to send the data over the ethernet to a network audio player.

Thank you

I have not made much progress on the remote app.

I have a bug fix for AirPlay with Decibel that should be coming soon. The AirPlay devices show up in the list of devices in the preferences, and they can be selected just like any other output.

I want to stream files played with Decibel to my Apple TV. Is this bug fix fixed yet? I do not see the Apple TV in my drop down of output options.

Do you see an option for AirPlay in the output menu?

No... All I see is Built-in, HDMI, the dac I use, and 2 Soundflower options. Also through the Apple TV... is SQ diminished in any way?
