hi.
first of all thanks for this great app. and a few minutes ago i found your player.......great.
i am a mac newbie!
in windows i used ape to convert all my wav files. because i am an
audio engineer those files are quite importent.
monkeysaudio has a verify feature which i always used,
is this also possible with max???
sometimes i had also problems with white noise in max.
i would appreciate any instructions for a save convertion to ape
(alternatively to apple lossless).
thanks a lot

wav to ape convertion
You should be able to configure Monkey's Audio like any other output format. Open the Preferences, select Formats, then select Monkey's Audio in the list of available formats at the bottom. To activate it, make sure it is checked in the list of configured formats at the top.
Right now there isn't a way to verify files, as can be done from the Monkey's Audio application on Windows or from the flac command-line encoder.
I will say that Monkey's Audio is probably the least-tested of all Max's formats. APE isn't too common on the Mac, and the SDK is extrememly Windows-centric. It should work for the normal 16/44.1 case, but other than that it hasn't been exhaustively tested.

thanks for your quick reply.
what lossless format would you suggest?
i am using all kind of formats (24bit mono/stereo and 16 stereo, but sometimes also 48KHz) and i would like to compress the whole folder when the job is done for backups.
since logic pro is able to read apple lossless this might be the best way for me to go.
but i would feel a lot better with some kind of verification.
thanks in advance (is that right english ???
