No Option to Convert to ALAC

I need to convert some FLAC files to ALAC so I can play them on my iPod, but it does not show up as an option in the list of formats.

I am running OS X 10.4.11, I'm not sure if that matters.

I assume you want Apple Lossless in an MPEG-4 container. What you're looking for is the firs MPEG-4 Audio (with .m4a extension) in the formats prefs.
