mpc file encoding error
mpc file encoding error
HI,
I've just recently been able to get Max functioning on Leopard, but now when I try converting mpc files I get the following messages:
"An error occurred while encoding the file"
"The file does not appear to be a valid Musepack file."
Is it the files? Or is it possible that there is something wrong with Max?
Thanks for your time and help.

Re: mpc file encoding error
Are you able to play the files using Play or another player?
Re: mpc file encoding error
Yes, everything seems to work fine with Play.
Re: mpc file encoding error
Can you send me one of the files so I can take a look?
Re: mpc file encoding error
Absolutely, how should I go about doing this?

Re: mpc file encoding error
Are these files legally obtained?
Re: mpc file encoding error
Hi all,
I get exactly the same message as Bebop.
And my .mpc file is read flawlessly by Play, and by PC players.

Re: mpc file encoding error
I've tried to convert the same .mpc file using mpc2aiff: it works flawlessly.Cemoi wrote:I get exactly the same message as Bebop
So the issue is with Max, not with the file.
Re: mpc file encoding error
This is strange, because the code for reading Musepack files is virtually identical in Play and Max. Does this happen with the latest unstable version of Max?
Re: mpc file encoding error
No it works fine: the file can be read, and conversion to AIFF is OK.sbooth wrote:Does this happen with the latest unstable version of Max?
But when trying to convert to AAC I get the following error message
(approximate translation from the French version of Max):
"Call to ExtAudioFileGetProperty failed".
Re: mpc file encoding error
I'm glad that MPC decoding is fixed. Can you post the accompanying message from the console log for the ExtAudioFileGetProperty error?
