Max crashes when trying to encode .aif

Hi all...
I've a very strange problem. Every time I try to encorde in .aif or .aiff (16 bit big endian linear signed integer) Max crashes...
It never happens with any other output formats.

How can I fix this bug?

What version of Max are you using? Are you converting a file or ripping from a CD? Are you using the Core Audio or libsndfile AIFF encoder?
