Max 0.71 and Leopard 10.5.1 unable to choose Formats

Hi to all,

i see a strange behaviour, i'm unable to choose Formats in preferences.
I use max 0.71 with leopard 10.5.1 on a macbook pro 2.4 ghz

Anyone could help?
