Unless... Remain does not yet use Leopard, used a much older (instable) version of Play at first, then installed 1054 Play-Tiger (which creates a new database in ~/Library/Application Support/Play-Tiger/) and then updated to 1057 Play (which again uses the database in ~/Library/Application Support/Play/). In that scenario it is possible that the existing database is indeed incompatible with the new Version of Play.
Solution: Remove the existing database ~/Library/Application Support/Play/Library.sqlite3
