Play: Menu not visible...
I am running -v560 now. The problem is, that the menu does not work - all menu points are grayed out (therefore, for example, the creation of a playlist is not possible)

in the old version, every thing worked fine. The problem is since -v552 (where it was stated, that some file had to be deleted - I did so)

I am running the latest version of MacOS 10.4.

any help would be very welcome,
ch

This is very strange. In the Playlist menu, the 'New Playlist' and 'New Smart Playlist' options should always be available. What about the File Menu? Are any command available in that one?

thanks for the reply:

to be more precise:
- all the "top menus" are visible "File, Edit, ...)
- however, all "sub-menus" are grayed-out, except Edit/Find, Spelling, Special characters...

again: this only happens since -v472. Could you make an "old version" available just to find out whether that one still works?

thanks,
ch

Can you try moving the ~/Library/Application Support/Play/Library.sqlite file somewhere else and relaunching Play? It sounds like the library database might be the older format.

Another question: do any messages appear in the console log when you run Play?

hi,
many thanks for the prompt reply
1. I installed -v564
2. I *removed* the Library.sqlite as well the Play folder

-> Effect:
after relaunching, a new Play folder was created as well as a new .sqlite. However, nothing changed

Just a follow up, but I assume if you delete the preferences that everything works?

Did you delete the Library.sqlite3 and org.sbooth.Play.plist files? I added some new columns and database fields in r722 so the old versions of those files no longer work.
