3. You better try. I for one have no problems ripping to ALAC with the latest trunk build, but neither did I with 0.7.1.

Re: My new MacBook Pro
ABout time!
Kidding aside. The MacBook Pro's are blazing fast compared to the PowerBook G4. I went from a 1.5GHz PowerBook G4 to a 2.4GHz MacBook Pro last summer and experienced 1/5 encoding time.
Enjoy!

Re: Cannot set formats
The latest stable Max (version 0.7.1) is not compatible with Mac OS 10.5.
The latest "unstable" build should work though.

Re: Can't Highlight m4p files
.m4p files are not supported by Max.
Cause they are DRM protected, which restrict them to playback through iTunes only.

Re: Max and LAME 3.98b6
This should work! 1. Pull the Max source from SVN. 2. Pull the latest LAME trunk (3.98b6 I presume) source from CVS. 3. Go into this directory (Max' source code): "Max/Frameworks/lame/ 4. Replace the "lame" directory (containing the LAME source) with the one downloaded from CVS. 5. Build Max as usua...

Elrond. ..and the source files have metadata (tags) which include the data you have set up Max to use for output file naming?
Max don't care about the source file naming, but use metadata for naming the output files.

Nope!
At least not without rewriting all the GUI, Core Audio, etc. code. Since is Mac OS 10.4 and higher only.

Huh!radknee wrote:Thanks for the reply.
One big limitation of iTunes is it's inability to output hi-res audio (greater than 16/44).

So my 24bit/192kHz files encoded with iTunes is not hi-res audio?

Re: Do you have a better name for Max?
Changing name on a well established product/application is not a smart move. At least not in my opinion.. 'Max' are soon running into its third (if we are not already in it), and have already became the de-facto CD ripper for Mac OS X. Changing the name to "Whatever" will only make people confused. ...
