That sounds like a good idea.
Move the mentioned checkbox from Preferences to the 'Convert Files' window.

Bump!
Stephen, do you have a comment on the "Save converted files to the same location..." setting?

^ I totally forgot.
I did not remember that the DiskArbitration framework is Mac OS 10.4 only. I thought it was limited to Mac OS 10.3.9 or later since it is compiled with GCC 4.0.

Support for more audio formats is always welcome. But I think the most important task is to improve, if possible, the secure CD ripping engine. This is way beyond my knowledge level though, so I have no idea where to go from here. Other than that I see a strong need for an alternative to FreeDB, sin...

No. I prefer them to stay as two separate applications, just like today. Some points: * Tag don't support tagging of the imo 3 most important audio formats (Apple Lossless, AAC and MP3). * You get an application that is specialized for the task. Not a "bloated" one, with lots of features you don't u...

I prefer they stay as separate applications, specialized for their limited task. That way you keep the interface clean, and the users (in this case me) don't feel they have a 'bloated' application. With lots of features the might not use... Instead of developing a new audio player, why not write a C...

@sbooth. No, thank you for creating this excellent tool! :) I have compiled a fresh revision 759 build, and after some investigation I found what caused my problem. Ticking "Save converted files to the same location..." in 'Preferences -> Output' override the output directory in 'File -> Convert Fil...

I seem to have a different pattern. Regardless what I set as Output Directory (Default, Desktop, ..) it always output to the same directory as the source file. Same happens if I use source tracks from different directories. Off topic. I can't delete tracks from the "Files to be converted" window wit...

Preference improvements

I have a couple of improvement request for the "Preferences -> Ripper" window. 1. The settings would be a lot easier to understand if only features for the 'Active ripper' are active, while the other ones are inactive. * Select "Basic ripper" and all Comparison and Paranoia settings should be inacti...

It would be great if someone made a QuickTime Component for the open-source audio codecs out there. Xiph QuickTime Components allow iTunes to play Ogg Vorbis and Ogg FLAC files. But not native FLAC files, yet. Something like this for FLAC, WavPack, Monkey's Audio, Musepack, etc would be great... :) ...
