Re: Bug Tracking Systems
I really like bugzilla. I am not much of a developer myself, but follow the Camino (web browser) development tightly. They, like Mozilla themselves, use Bugzilla which seems to have all the needed features, Status, priority, importance, voting, email list, attachments, list of other bugs it depends ...

Re: krmathis' impressions....
I don't know about the crashes, but I am sure you will find out what's wrong and fix it. Tried once more yesterday, and it crashed as well. Forgot to save the crash log though. But I will try again this evening. Regarding how to post bug reports. For me you don't have to alter the text. Just began t...

krmathis' impressions....
Thanks a lot Stephen, for all the work putting into developing Rip. ..and for all the future work you're going to put into it. :D Here are my initial impressions: 1. I miss the custom output file naming scheme, which are present in Max. Reported -> http://rip.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/...

Re: Rip, "the" ripper...
Stephen. That sounds really awesome!
All the features missing in 'Max', and even some not present in any (probably) other ripper out there.
Is it using cdparanoia III 10.2, an improved comparison ripper, or something totally new?

Rip, "the" ripper...
Hopefully 'Rip' will be "the" ripper for Mac OS X, just like EAC is "the" ripper for MS Windows.
* Secure ripping.
* Pre-gap detection.
* Ability to create and save a log.
* Offset correction.
* AccurateRip support.
* Codecs/Formats as in 'Max'.
* ...
Can't wait!

Re: Install MAX (new to Mac)
Quite easy.
1. Double-click the downloaded file (Max-0.8.1.tar.bz2), to uncompress it.
2. Notice the Max.app show up beside it.
3. Drag and drop the Max.app into your /Applications folder.
4. Double-click the Max.app to launch it.
5. Enjoy!

Re: Itunes won't save info?
Ask the developers of the "another program" to add support for metadata editing through iTunes.
Or use Tag (by sbooth as well), to tage the FLAC files..

Re: Trouble: 24/96KHz FLAC -> ALAC
Strange! I am not even longer able to reproduce...
..and I am sure I have not updated Max.
Oh well, until I run (if ever) into the issue again consider it a non-issue.
Sorry for the trouble.

Trouble: 24/96KHz FLAC -> ALAC
I ran into the following issues, and am unsure if its known. Transcoding 24-bit/96KHz FLAC files to Apple Lossless (ALAC) result in 16-bit/96KHz output. Here is how to reproduce: 1. Download one of the HDTT samples -> http://01688cb.netsolhost.com/samplerdownload/ 2. Set MAX to output ALAC files. 3....

Re: Adding to iTunes renames ogg files
May be worth telling which additional software you use.
Cause as you know iTunes don't support the Ogg container out-of-the-box.

Re: Change Tags after Apple Lossless Encode?
Correct! The TAG website clearly specify:
No Apple Lossless, AAC, MP3, .. support in there.Tag is a metadata editor for FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Monkey's Audio and WavPack files.
