Re: Bizarre! Still can't find my resulting FLAC files

Here's the last few lines of the log that results in the Console details....should there be additional log entried beyond this when you rip something??? If so, perhaps this highlights the problem.. 12/4/08 5:54:08 PM Rip[41542] Encoding /var/folders/oO/oOT7V9MdG5mhnqzPgHMi9E+++TM/-Tmp-/303cff9c.wav ...

Re: Bizarre! Still can't find my resulting FLAC files

BTW, I just tried switching my output folder to be my Desktop, to rule out that there is somehow a problem saving files to my separate partition. Turns out this didn't work either, same results as earlier, with nothing but the .log file in the properly named artist/album directory. This is one of th...

Bizarre! Still can't find my resulting FLAC files

Aright, I installed the latest release, after having completely deleted the earlier app. I decided to just Rip a very clean disc that I own. The logs look fine, they say there are .flac files, but they are nowhere to be found...spotlight doesn't see them anywhere, etc. This is bizarre. The directori...

Re: First Impression

Yes, the folder exists, but the only thing in there is the seeingthings.log log file....no music to be found anywhere...by the way, I should remind you that I'm running the Universal binary that you pointed me to, not the normal build...i am going to try removing the software completely, then loadin...

Re: First Impression

By the way, where do the FLAC files end up, I chose a specific directory to save them in, but they are not there, only the log file is there....I was succesful now with a different Jakob Dylan CD, but can't find the flac files! I just put the CD in and hit Copy Tracks...am I doing something wrong? S...

First Impression

OK, so I started in on my library CD's...Bob Dylan Modern Times was first up...wouldn't complete, kept getting stuck on the last song it seems...it tried to rescan blocks for a long long time (nearly 1 hour), whilst Rip got up to using about 250% of CPU on my 8 core mac pro. Then, ultimately, it jus...

Which build to test?

Stephen, Just got my hands on some new CD's to use for my first impressions of Rip! They are library copies, all beat up, so should be good material to test with! I was wondering if it is best to just test your very first release there, or the 64-bit build, or what? I use the latest Mac Pro w/ 8-cor...

Re: Sample Accurate CD copying with Max

Wait a second, why are you focused on ripping/extraction when your goals call for duplication, not ripping/extraction???? I don't get it...why don't you simply make a disc image out of every disc and copy that image onto a new CD? This will result in an exact copy of the entirety of the disc. There ...

Re: Ripping Strategy

Thanks Stephen, this is interesting indeed. I am excited, the strategy seems to make sense to my naive thinking anyway :-) So, if I understand you correctly, you feel that this strategy is superior to a strategy that is based purely on AccurateRip??? Do you use cdparanoia anywhere in the new strateg...

Re: DVD-Audio Ripping

handbrake can rip dvd to audio files Umm, no, you missed the point. This has nothing to do with ripping a standard DVD to audio files. The topic was about ripping DVD-Audio format discs, and yes, they are different. If you understand they are different type of discs, and you know what they are that...

Re: Latest Max SVN's

No problem man...by the way, I could tell by the use of Lame 3.98 now, by looking in the Encoder field of the MP3 tagging. So, in a round about way, I actually found I was using the new version...so far, so good!

Keep up the great work!

Re: Latest Max SVN's

Thanks Stephen! Just installed the new version in time to rip some new discs. By the way, I had to do a doubletake a bit to make sure I truly did load the new version. Is there an easy way to tell that I have the latest build running? The 'About' area simply names 0.8.1 like it did before. Let me kn...

Re: Latest Max SVN's

Hey there,

Any news on the new release? No rush, just making sure I didn't miss it...I still don't know where the new builds are posted. I'll keep an eye out for new Development threads I guess.

Thanks again!

Latest Max SVN's

So, in the past, i've loaded the newest builds. I am running the latest 'stable' build 0.8.1. I just can't remember where I got the non-GA builds. I'd like to get the latest and greatest unstable build...the 24 bit fixes and others are needed here. Where do i get a compiled latest SVN? Thanks, Brian
