Yep. Instructions for checking out the code through SVN are in the Developers section of Max's web page.

Yes, this is just to confirm whether or not iTunes Library Manager is causing the problem, and, yes, everything will be easy to revert. All you need to do is change the names of the files back to what they were. I'm not sure what you could do if iTunes Library Manager is the problem, but it would at...

iTunes Library Manager might be the culprit. This is convoluted, but trying this might work: Quit iTunes Rename your iTunes library folder (~/Music/iTunes) to something else, like iTunes~ Rename your iTunes preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.itunes.plist) to something else, like com.a...

I'm still not sure what the problem could be. Some questions:
  • Do you have any iTunes plugins or addons installed?
  • Do you have OS 9 on your computer?
  • Which version of Max are you using?
  • Which version of iTunes are you using?

I wonder if `hybrid' use the same or different rates. Hybrid discs include both a Red Book-standard layer that can play in any CD player and the SACD layer, which requires a SACD-compatible player. Actually, now that I think about it, and after some googling, I don't think that there are optical co...

SACDs and DVD-Audio discs use higher bitstreams (is that the right term?) and sampling frequencies. There aren't many releases in each format, though there are some releases by well-known musicians. Higher fidelity support might also be of interest to field recorders, among whom 24-bit/96kHz is bec...

There's a script on this page to do just that, I think. I haven't tested it.

I can't duplicate the error message. What are your encoder settings and your output settings? What version of Max are you using and are you ripping a CD or converting a file?

Enhanced CDs have both audio tracks and computer data. For example, there can be the tracks from an album on the audio section and a music video on the data section.

True, it will. You could try my suggestion, then use Tag to remove the COMPLIATION tag, or just use Tag instead of Max for tagging.

To change the Artist, Album, Year, Genre, and Composer for individual tracks, check the Compilation checkbox above the track listing.

Wow, I thought this was a vaporware project! If only the source code was available... Well, the audio player is still vaporware, and I heard that the developer hasn't been working on it, so it'll probably stay that way. He did mention in that post that he was planning to release updates and the sou...

The Euphonos Metadata Importer already does this for FLAC and a bunch of other formats, but I don't think it searches all available tags.
