Save Encoder settings in comment [append]?

It seems that if you specify any comments in the Convert Files metadata, the setting:

"Save Encoder settings in comment"

... is not applied.

Could it be made so that is appended to whatever comments you might specify in the metadata?

Convert Files: default to file name?

is it possible to make the convert files window default to the original file name? If I'm dealing with FLAC files with no meta data, I typically set the artist and the album metadata first and then intend to use another tagging tool to get the track number & track title from the file name. But the r...

Convert Files Scriptable?

It seems the "Convert Files" window (for converting FLAC, etc) is not scriptable as is the convert CD window. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? And if it is correct, can it be fixed?

rudimentary script itunes cddb-->max

I have no idea why Max can't get this information from the internal database that is kept by OS X. This info should be cached as soon as iTunes loads it. But here's a rudimentary soluation that will get the tag info from iTunes and put it into the top max window. Note some bugs in Max in the comment...

That's helpful, thanks. What about the LAME version? I have the latest LAME beta installed in /usr/bin/.

Save into Artist/Album folders or Compilations folder?

I see you can specify a target folder.

Could an option be included to save into folder by Artist and Album, or in the case of multiple artists, save into a Compilations folder then by Album, as iTunes does? (In that case the compilation tag should also be set).

thanks.

LAME versions and presets

Hi, I like the simplicity of Max, thanks. However, what are the correspondences between familiar LAME settings, such as: --preset standard --preset extreme etc? I think "transparent" is preset standard but I'm not sure. Also, how do you check what version / install of LAME is being used, and can tha...
