Since this clearly seems to be a hardware issue, I was wondering if someone could give me a tip on a nice external drive that can handle C2 errors in Rip. You need to open a Terminal window (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) from where you can use commands like, "ls" to show a list of the files and folders that are in the folder you are in, or "cd Music" for example to go into your Music Folder. I just verified it with a brand new cd, straight from its packaging, and I do indeed have the same kind of log as PlayFan has, with the same behaviour. Seems to be a hardware problem then, no?

Sadly enough I myself can't test it at the moment as I am on a project and don't have any cd's with me. I'll try it out at the end of the week when I am back home.

I actually do the same and have the same system as you have. Even with perfectly newly bought cd's, straight out of the plastic, the C2 always kicks in and takes forever. I eventually always have to force quit the program and turn of C2 so I can actually rip the disc. However, I always very much dou...

Perhaps this could be a nice feature, that in case the AccurateRip result of a track isn't correct that this track is re-ripped with C2 verification on? Don't know anything about the difficulty or the possibility to implement something like that, but could be interesting. Saves time in case the disk...
