Input/Output Error
Hello and thank you thank you thank you thank you! You make great software and my Mac would be seriously lacking without it. I started using Rip a couple months ago (in lieu of Max) and wanted to report an error I was getting (below). I've had it happen with two different CDs; after the error, the R...

Converting from FLAC stopped wroking (1328)
Hi - I have been using 1328 since it came out, however, today I am no longer able to convert from FLAC files into any other format. I get an error that reads: *** -[NSCFDictionary lastPathComponent]: selector not recognized [self = 0x1607f040] A few days ago I installed the command line version of f...

Re: converting aac to mp3
I can try. First, go to Preference in Max (MAX --> PREFERENCES) then move to the FORMATS tab. You'll have a list of "Configured output formats" (which is probably empty) and a list of "Available formats". Select MP3 from the available list and hit the plus-sign-button. I would choose encoder quality...

Re: FLAC Picture Metadata Support in Tag
Ditto! I sometimes bring FLAC files from other sources (not MAX) and it would be great if I could add the album art through TAG.

Re: Music Brainz CDDB Problems ...
Max looks up CDs by their MusicBrainz ID. Max uses the disc's MBID as the filename, so it is easy to copy the filename (minus the cdinfo extension) and paste it into the MB website to search for a specific disc ID. That should determine if the problem is related to Max or just that the particular p...

Music Brainz CDDB Problems ...
Hi, I have a few CDs whose tracks aren't being recognized by Max (via MusicBrainz). Most CDs in my collection are fine, but a couple turn up with no results. They happened to be lesser known CDs, so I thought it may be a limitation of of the MusicBrainz database, however, when I went to http://music...

This is too exciting to handle.

Single-file FLAC (w/Embedded CueSheet) to Multiple MP3 Files
Hi again - a lot of great development here. Thank you! Am curious whether a planned feature will be the ability to auto-find and insert album/track info for single-FLAC-file albums w/embedded cuesheet when they are ripped to a multi-file format (mp3, ogg, aac)? Currently, I have to type in all the T...

Oh that did it. I didn't think to try that. Thanks. It works!sbooth wrote:I can't duplicate this. Can you try removing FLAC from your list of configured encoders and then adding it over again?

r1317 FLAC encoding crashes Max
Hi - I just downloaded the newest build and if I output to FLAC Max crashes (get the "do you want to reopen" Mac OS X dialog box) ... output to MP3, no such crash. Have tried with single files as well as full disk extraction. Goes through extraction fine, as soon as it brings up the encoder to do th...

Re: help - settings for ripping WAV files
i put the Max icon into my applications folder and deleted everything else. am i good? Should be good to go. Does the application work? You can drag the icon from your Applications folder onto your Dock if you want to create a "shortcut" there. Removing it from the dock does not delete the program....

Re: help - settings for ripping WAV files
i downloaded both the "universal binary" and "source code" files... i wasn't sure if need them both, or if they both had the program, or what. if i downloaded them both, i didn't put the program on here twice or anything, right? Re: help - settings for ripping WAV files
After you have moved the "Max" application into your Applications folder you don't have to keep any of that stuff if you don't want to. Or move the whole folder into your Applications folder. It is up to you. If you delete the Max Application you will delete the program.

Re: Join Tracks ?
For me the issue is more of keeping the tracks together during a "shuffle" ... I like to listen to random classical music and would rather it stay in the same movement.

Re: help - settings for ripping WAV files
I would download it from:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/maca ... 2?download
That should get you everything you need. Uncompress the file, go into the Max-0.7.1 folder and drag the application icon from there into your Applications folder.
