Re: File Conversion broken under r1238

I am seeing the same behavior when ripping/encoding a CD. I am using the default naming scheme. If I select a scheme things work properly, but there's no way to tell it to use Compilations when using a specific naming scheme.

Advice on managing library?

For a while now I've just kept all my music in iTunes. I keep my library on an external RAID volume - /Volumes/RAIDBox/Music. And underneath that path are all of the Artists directories as iTunes likes to do. But now I'm starting to rip stuff in to FLAC and I'm trying to figure out where to put it. ...

Saving disc data

So when I'm done ripping I eject the disc and click the red button to close the window. It warns me to save the info. I do so. Then I click the red button again and it still warns me. The only way to close the window is to say "Don't Save". Is there something I'm doing wrong?

They did. This program is so awesome. Even know it's the best ripper/encoder I've seen. I'm gonna flaunt it to some windows guys to make them cry. :)

Re: Secure ripping

While I anxiously await the day Max has perfected secure extraction and can generate a useful LOG, I follow these steps using xACT: http://puddletowndesign.com/FLAC/macRipping.html FWIW, security-wise, this scheme also seems to satisfy most EAC users. But taking a quick look it seems to use cdparan...

Re: Secure ripping

So what do folks recommend? I really only want to rip this stuff once. I'm going for as accurate of an archive as possible. I'm doing full paranoia now, but do the truly paranoid say to use EAC instead? Does anyone have any reasonable real-world experience of the two? And if I decide to rip with EAC...

Re: When converting, how to USE album art?

The FLAC format has album art support. It is not stored with the Vorbis comments, but in another kind of metadata block. I did some googling before I found Max and it seemed like the album art thing wasn't really a standard - maybe I was just looking at old data. I was going to ask how Max handled ...

Re: Double-digits for track numbers

Could you clarify the question a bit- I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. Do you want to rename files using 2-digit track numbers or change the actual TRACKNUMBER tag? I want to rename files using two digit track numbers. There's an option in Max to do this (to create files using ...

Double-digits for track numbers

Quick question, and my apologies if I missed it.

Tag lets me specify double-digit track numbers. Is there an option in tag for that as well if I'm renumbering?
