there IS a filename field in play. ctrl-click (or rightclick) on the bar that shows the fields in the library / play queue and select "filename". only problem is that when you're editing metadata, you don't see it, and it doesn't seem to be a filtersearchable field. but when you browse the files you...

let's clarify what i just tried to say, that came out a bit too long: 1) i do believe there can be differences with different combinations of CD media and players, and that some CD media can be better, that depends on several factors - it might be that there's no difference between different media o...

I believe you. Everything you say makes perfect sense. What makes me differ is due to this burning process started by the owner of Genesis Audio. It will make no theorectical sense and when try to explain it people roll their eyes. So instead I just play them the difference. that's interesting. hav...

okay - in that case i'd advise you to try the comparison ripper and cdparanoia options in max preferences and see if they make a difference. i can't really think of any other thing that would make a difference. because the thing is, if you rip a piece of music to aiff or wav, pack it to flac or appl...

the only difference between apple lossless, flac, wav and aiff would happen during the CD ripping. trust me, it doesn't matter at all what format of those four you use, they all are able to store whatever the CD ripper can get from the CD, sample by sample. nothing is lost or changed in any of the f...

tried to reproduce the problem with r831 for a few minutes with no success. plus now the selection seems to function like it should (doesn't change before i've finished tagging a set of files)

awesome, thanks!

1. A text-only interface would be supersweet. it would be cool. not too important for my use though so not #1 on my list. ability to configure a really ascetic and slim graphical interface would be nice though: 2. There is a lot of wasted space on the layout. Only visible elements necessary are pre...

You are not doing anything wrong. Play should not be tagging the wrong files! I've done extensive improvement of the metadata handling since version 0.1.1 was released. Could you download r829 or later and see if you still have similar problems? tried with r829, it still happens. this time i took s...

Tagging multiple files?

First of all, thanks a LOT for Play. I've been looking for a good music player for OSX for a while - I don't like iTunes very much plus it's really lacking in the format support department, and Cog has been nice but pretty rough and unpredictable on my system so far. At some point I was even plannin...
