Re: Snow Leopard
Well, that's good news. It isn't working for me at all for updates from 0.9 to 0.9.1 Which version did you update from? Which OS version are you using? It's not working for me either. 0.8.x -> 0.9 worked fine, 0.9 -> 0.9.1 is not working. 10.5.8 PPC. I receive the alert of a new version, it downloa...

Re: Sparkle not updating to 0.2
Sparkle still doesn't seem to work OK. I've got 0.2 (1007) but it maintains that there is no newer version. 0.3 apparently is not newer than 0.2. Have you tried updating the Sparkle framework, I believe I've seen some similar issues being fixed. Although that may have been SparklePlus, instead of th...

Sparkle not updating to 0.2
I've not been active with Play for a while and was still using 0.1.3b/964. There is a 0.2 out now but neither the automatic check or the manual check for updates mentions anything on a new version. It happily says 0.1.3b/964 is the latest. Were you aware of this?

Mind you, I am not a Vorbis expert but I believe this still doesn't have the aoTuV branch integrated so switching from aoTuV to 1.2.0 would be a step back regarding audio quality.

* I miss a 'reset to defaults' feature, for when you really messed up the settings. If I'm not mistaken, the only option now is to remove the plugin and re-add it. I will add this- you are correct that the only way to do this currently is to remove and re-add the effect. Nice, thanks. Something els...

I like the DSP plugins! Especially those for playing with the dynamics. A few questions: * I miss a 'reset to defaults' feature, for when you really messed up the settings. If I'm not mistaken, the only option now is to remove the plugin and re-add it. * Could you rename the plugins? At least remove...

The section on faac on the page that i referred to was last updated in 2006 (it's actually just as old as the thread Maurits referred to), not that old in my humble opinion. Yep, and it's either a very old quote or they have an odd notion of time. The last serious quality update on FAAC was in Febr...

FAAC may give you extra tuning options, I very much doubt they will offset the fact that FAAC is just not such a good encoder. FAAC was tested against Apple's and Nero's AAC encoder over three years ago on HydrogenAudio. Even then, it was no match for both. Worse still, development on FAAC has been ...

Oops! It appears that among these case sensitive apps is Winamp, not the least player out there. It writes lowercase RG tags and will not read uppercase ones. Furthermore, topics like this one suggest it's not only MP3 or Winamp that suffer from it. The safest way seems to be to indeed read both cas...

Since this is a "audiophile" type of player how about a "label" column too. IE Blue Note, Columbia, Verve, etc :?: Does a 'label' tag exist? TPUB, for 'publisher' is the closest one I can find among ID3v2.4 frames . Since not a lot of other apps will read this, using it may be a bit pointless, it w...

Re: What i would like to see
Is it possible to restore the old way in the mean time? Displaying the art where the logo is now may have been small but I liked it, and it is better than nothing.sbooth wrote:Album art support is in the planning stage. I haven't decided how I would like to do this, but it will be added in the future.

Was r820 supposed to be the build including this, because it's not showing the values for my files with TXXX rg info? If not, disregard this post. The problem was that foobar saved the TXXX frames as "replaygain_track_peak", i.e. all lower case. Play was looking for upper case. I've changed the cod...

Thanks! Would it be possible to have the "progress bar" really display a progress? It's quite useless if it's just an animation that looks like a progress bar. On a single file basis I can imagine this being near-impossible or slowing down the process even further. On a multi-file job it mig...
