Loading files from a NAS?

I have about 1TB of flac files from a NAS in my Decibel library. After an update to 10.8.4 (which required a restart, which required quoting/relaunching Decibel for the first time since creating the library from the NAS), the files are in the Decibel library, but won't play. Decibel can't seem to fi...

easy request?

Can I make what I think is an easy feature request/suggestion? If a file doesn't have the Title tagged, can you just have Decibel show the name of the file? I'm demoing Decibel now, and I imported a few files that had the Artist tagged but not the track name. It showed "Untitled" instead of the actu...

Re: Poll: Feature priorities

Another thing, but take this one as IMHO. Having 2 different project that do the same thing like Decibel/Play and Max/Rip it's a waste of time and energy. If you merge (Max with Rip) or stop the development of one of the two (like Play), i think that you can have more suggestion, less questions fro...

Re: Flac 196 to Flac 96

I don't know what a "Flac 196" might be. However, you appear to be asking something about 24-bit 96kHz Flac files. As far as I can tell, Max can't deal with such files at all. It can't make them, it can't open them, it can't convert them to anything. I could be wrong about that, but certainly my at...

i'm sure you can do it for a bunch of files at once (*.m4a), though if there's interest, I can quickly whip up a little droplet app - drop the files on the icon and it'll fix them

Re: Converting to Apple Lossless - not 100% bit accurate?

Did you try converting to ALAC in Max and from ALAC in XLD? Was that OK?

I thought I tried that last week and it failed, but I may be wrong. I'll play around again tonight when I get away from this Windows machine at work...

Re: Converting to Apple Lossless - not 100% bit accurate?

i feel dumb...I didn't even consider trying to convert back with iTunes. I just tried Max, XLD, afconvert and my own core audio test.

anyway, I knew I wasn't imagining this :)

Converting to Apple Lossless - not 100% bit accurate?

I've been messing around with converting files to Apple Lossless and have run into a problem: the Apple Lossless files don't convert back to the original wav files. The data is not 100% the same. Example: I just fed this wav file to Max (output courtesy of shntool): Length: 6:40.27 WAVE format: 0x00...
