Re: Lion compatibility

Hi Stephen, It's been about 12 hours and 2 reboots since I last used Decibel. The result of which cleared up the issue I described above. The reboots were to do with a couple of updates to design software that I use, so I'm not sure if or how that affected Decibel. Anyway, changing between 96 kHz to...

Re: Lion compatibility

I've seen some hiccuping with sample rate changing. Essentially, Decibel stops playing when a change occurs. In my scenario last night, I was going from 96 kHz to 44.1 kHz and the player just stopped. Clicking on the Play button a couple of times resumed playing. Sometimes it required 2 clicks but o...

Lion compatibility

Hi Stephen,
With Lion being released today, I'm sure many are upgrading like I am. I was curious, have you identified Decibel's compatibility issues yet? I'm sure you're aware of some, but would it be helpful to have a thread where people can note their Lion specific bugs?

Thanks - Jason

Re: Poll: Feature priorities

"Don't quit the application with "X" or cmd+w already!!!" This is an inconsistency within many OS X applications. Some do shut when the last window (there's really only one main window in Decibel) is shut down while others stay active. Personally, I'm not sure which approach follows the official Ap...

Re: Poll: Feature priorities

As much as I would love to be able to control Decibel remotely, being able to create and manage playlists within Decibel would be more valuable for me right now. Skipping iTunes as much as possible aside from ripping CDs would be ideal. Depending on the type of info you're considering on tallying, s...

Re: Decibel 1.2.4 prerelease available

Just an FYI, I am seeing the same play button not changing to a pause button (and occasionally working, and then the opposite happening) issue that was described above in 1.2.3. So this is (apparently) not an issue specific to 1.2.4. If you hit the Command key, the play/pause button toggles to the ...

Re: Cutting out during playback

Hi Stephen, I downloaded the latest pre-release, 1.2.4 (5), and tried it this morning. The audio cut-out issue was present, so I tried doubling the RingBufferCapacity and RingBufferWriteChunkSize...it didn't work. Do you know of any changes to the pre-release code that might impact the effects of in...

Re: Integer mode in Decibel?

Ah, this explains why HOG mode in Decibel have worked poorly with my MF V-Link! The same problems that I had with both Pure Music and Audirvana in Integer Mode (not HOG only mode) before upgrading to a new powered USB hub. Thx for the answer. Just curious...what do you mean by Decibel's working poo...

Re: Cutting out during playback

Hi Stephen,

I've executed those commands and no cut-outs thus far. It's been close to 40 minutes now of continuous playback. I'll give you an update later this evening after some extended listening, but the changes seem to have done the trick for this issue.

Many thanks!

Re: Cutting out during playback

Hi Stephen,

Were you able to spend any additional time on this issue? If so, were you able to find any causes?

Thanks.

sbooth wrote:Thanks for the information. One last question- do the glitches occur if hog mode is disabled?
Yes.
I had to double check before replying as I've never run Decibel in non-hog mode.

Thanks.

Re: Cutting out during playback

Do the dropouts seem to occur only on files at certain sample rates? All files are ALAC 44.1/16. Do you have the "Automatically adjust sample rate" option enabled? "Adjust sample rate for best quality" is checked, and "Sample Rate Converter" is set to maximum quality. If not, what is the device samp...

Cutting out during playback

Hi, I'm having issues with playback. Music is cutting out at random intervals for a fraction of a second, as if a pause button is tapped a couple of times. This has been happening since version 1.2.0, and I've been keeping current, so I'm running 1.2.3. As I've stated earlier, it happens at random i...
