Re: Poll: Feature priorities

Don't quit the application with "X" or cmd+w already!!!
Fixing minor bugs before adding huge features should be priority...

Re: Tin ear?

You shouldn't, both do bit-perfect playback. At least as long as you don't have any EQ or DSP active... everything else is placebo, like some people claim to hear a difference between WAV and FLAC.

Re: Last.fm PluginProblems

Scrobbling seems to work fine now with updated plug-in from this thread, including pending scrobbles. But it doesn't display 'now playing' for me after srobbling the first track of the session.

Re: Media buttons working globally?

1) I'd like to see that as well.
2) The screenshot from the homepage is an older version where you could add the finder's selection to the playlist with this button. It has nothing to do with searching. Searching is only within the playlist.

Re: How to play a wave file?

Maybe upload a snipped of the file (30sec) somewhere so everyone can fiddle with it. It seems that the file is somehow broken, but then the question is why dbPoweramp could transcode it without a problem.
(you can trim the file with Audacity for example)

Re: How to play a wave file?

Max (from sbooth like Decibel) or XLD

But it'd still be interesting to know why those WAVE files won't play.

Re: How to play a wave file?

I don't know what the exact problem is. But my 24/96 FLAC files play fine. So convert them to FLAC (save a lot of space and get tagging capabilities) and try again...

Re: ReplayGain - please explain

iTunes does not write RG metadata. It uses its own implementation "Sound Check" and writes the tag "iTunNORM" I do not know of any program on OS X which does native RG scanning. But you linked to iVolume which converts the tags from iTunes to RG data. So that should work, I guess. edit: Last one is ...

Re: ReplayGain - please explain

It's not possible to generate RG on the fly since the full track (track gain) or album (album gain) has to be analyzed. You need files which already have the RG data in their metadata, so Decibel will read and apply it on playback. RG is calculated to -89dB reference level. With preamplification you...

Not quite right afaik, because 5.1 AC3/DTS passthrough works just fine. But I guess you mean 6 discrete channels, which doesn't work. :)

Re: Decibel Feature Requests!

Decibel currently looks for cover.jpg files as album art in the same folder as the music. What other filenames are commonly used? Besides folder.jpg (never understood why) I for example use front.jpg. But it would be more convenient if it were a variable string (including various formats like .png)...
