Enhancement: Don't output hidden files

Lets say I decode a FLAC file, with no metadata, to Wave. Using this output file naming format:

{albumArtist}/{albumTitle}/{trackNumber}. {trackTitle}

Since there are no {trackNumber} data the resulting file will start with a . (punctuation), and hence be hidden to the user.
It would be great if Max under no circumstances output files starting with a punctuation. Leaving it out if needed.

Interesting point. I'm assuming you've tested that this is actually what happens in this scenario. It would probably explain why I have, in the past, had hidden output files. I used to use a period after track numbers, but in keeping with the iTunes naming/organization scheme we've all become accustomed to, I've disposed of the period long ago.

It seems like forcing the application to write hyphens or underscores in place of periods would make sense.

It would probably be a good idea, as you suggested, not to generate dotfiles. I've tried to envision a scenario where the user (since this is a custom naming scheme after all) would want this behavior, but I haven't come up with one.
