Double format and then add one to iTunes

Post by mchassy » Tue Nov 22, 2011 10:22 pm

I would like to do the following when I rip a CD
Encode FLAC in one folder and MP3 in another - Check. I know how to do that.
There is then an options in preferences to add to my iTunes library, but I only want the MP3s to be added.
Any ideas ?

Thanx

The Post-processing prefs allow you open output files with any application you like. It is trivial (using, e.g. AppleScript) to write a an application that examines the file extension of the given file and hands it to iTunes only if it is MP3.

Or you could just post-process the files yourself; since iTunes will accept a folder, you could hand the files to iTunes in a single move when you're done transcoding.
