Max 0.8.1 with Lame 3.98

Post by EmbeddedTim » Fri May 08, 2009 10:02 pm

Hello-

I've built Max (from bzr) and was wondering what happens in Lame 3.98 with the:

-Encoding engine quality
-Variable Bitrate Mode

options mean with the *new* 3.98.
It is my understanding that 3.98 now uses the --vbr-new (Variable Bitrate Mode = 'fast') by default. Or is this the "Encoding engine quality" option. Is the "Encoding engine quality" option still valid for 3.98, or is it implied by the "-V" options?

Thanks!
Tim

From the documentation on Hydrogen Audio - it sounds like the -q option is no longer used in 3.98.

Anyone with any insight to what happens in Max?
