Can't change certain tags when ripping

Post by TomSzr » Sat Jan 31, 2009 5:59 pm

When I use Max to rip CDs to Apple Lossless, most of the time, Max doesn't recognize the CD. So I use the script and the iTunes data is imported. I often want to fine tune that data, however. For example, I want to change the default iTunes genre to another one or I want to alter the way the artist is named. Sometimes (particularly on classical music) I also want to change the song titles as well. For some reason, whenever I do this and then rip the CD, the song titles I've changed are changed on the Apple Lossless file, but nothing else is -- I still have iTunes default genre or artist name even though I changed it on Max before ripping. Also, every album is considered a "compilation" by Max even when it isn't and even when the compilation box on the setting is not checked.

Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
