.ape disc image to .flac conversion: no individual tracks

Post by Riff » Mon Sep 01, 2008 5:16 pm

Disclaimer: I'm a novice at both Mac and digital audio, so if someone has a pointer to a previous post, or a "how to for dummies" please advise.

My question is I have a CD disc image file that is in .ape format. When I use Max to covert to flac, it comes out as all tracks in a single file. Is there a straightforward way to get it converted into individual lossless tracks?

Thanks!

Errrr, never mind. Stumbled upon an innovative (cough) search combination of "APE" and "TO" which brought up the following thread that had the answer: "How to generate separate tracks from APE/CUE files?"

I knew I couldn't have been the first guy on the block to want to know the secret. Cheers. :D

PS: In case someone doesn't want to do a new search.... Answer was Use File-Open then open the 'name.ape.cue' file instead of opening the 'name.ape' file. Continue as usual. Works perfectly....
