Ogg Flac vs Flac

Post by kdts9jw17 » Fri May 16, 2008 1:26 am

I want to use a lossless codec. What is the difference between Ogg Flac and Flac? Is one more likely to work in players that support these?

Same codec/encoder, just different containers.
FLAC = FLAC encoded audio data in native FLAC container.
OggFLAC = FLAC encoded audio data in the Ogg container.

Besides iTunes you will have most luck getting ahold of a player for FLAC (native container) files. Cause most players with Ogg support usually just play Vorbis audio data from them.
