FLAC Compression Setting?

Post by rydenfan » Mon May 05, 2008 11:02 pm

I always use FLAC as my setting to ripping my discs. Today I happened to double click FLAC in the format section of preferences. When I did it brought up options for Compression Level as well as a few other things. It had compression level set at 5. It this what I should leave it at? Does this have an impact on my sound quality? Thanks for the help!

Zero effect on sound. The settings relate to size/speed. The higher the number, the smaller the size, the slower to process. Or is it the other way around?

The default settings are fine. As 'Fuga' said, the sound quality is not affected by the settings. With high compression the file size will only be minimally smaller while encoding will last longer, even disproportionally so.
