max converts flac to apple lossless then file disappears

Post by herman » Sat Jan 19, 2008 10:10 pm

I am using max 0.8b and leopard. I tell it to convert a 24/96 flac file to Apple Lossless, I can see that the file is being created in the specified directory, and then when it is done and closes the encoder, everything it created disappears.

???

You did not run into the same issues as I mention here?

I guess that is it

I added data while in PLAY and now when I convert they show up, however, in the source directory, not the one I told it it to in output preferences.

I also have 4 files that evidently have metadata because it shows up in PLAY but when I choose the same file in MAX to convert the metadata isn't there. Those 4 get converted and placed in the specified output folder but disappear when it is done.

What kind of files are these? Play has an internal database in which it stores metadata for all files it knows about, not all of which is necessarily saved back to the file itself.

They were 24/96 FLAC files from http://www.archive.org/details/radams20 ... sbd.flac24

There are 27 files and the first 4 wouldn't report the metadata when I tied to convert,

I deleted them and downloaded again and when I put the metadata in the second time it took
