Tag 1.0.1 glitches and request

request:
- leading "0" (zero) for 1-9 tracks when renaiming (01, 02, 03 etc instead of 1, 2, 3 etc) please. at least as an option
- artwork's pixel size display (eg: 500x500, underneath the preview in "Artwork" pane)

glitches:
- registration window is resized after entering license # and, as it becomes veeeery wide, goes out of my MBA display
- "focus" is lost when Tag goes in background and user has to reposition the cursor where it was (I'm filling a field in Tag, then I bring, eg Safari to the front to check/copy a track's name and, when I bring Tag back to the front...)
- must click into some other field for the last filled one to be retained (and saved)

also... the "comments" field does *not* show, sometimes, all that Tag 0.4 does (using "old Tag" I often found, when buying music online, some comment that "new Tag" doesn't show)

EDIT: oh... and the very annoying "Artwork not showing anymore (sometimes, for some tracks) in Finder's preview after adding RG and hitting save issue" (already reported whilst in beta. even sent you sample files, remember? ;-) ) is still there :-/
(when this happens even completely removing artwork, saving, re-adding and saving again doesn't fix things. moving files to a different HD doesn't fix it either. yes: Artwork is still embedded, just doesn't show anymore in Finder!)
convert from AIFF (the format I always rip to and edit tags) to ALAC and it shows again

thanks for taking a look

Thank you for the feedback. I'll add them to my tracker.

What format are the files that are showing incomplete comments?

I only use aiff and flac

btw: could you, please, make it so Tag accepts both AIF and AIFF file extensions?

thanks

Is it AIFF or FLAC files with the incomplete comments?

...hhmmmm... FLAC, I think

it usually happens that, when I transcode to ALAC (I keep FLACs and AIFFs on the MacMini connected to my stereo *and* an ALAC copy on the iMac to be synched with my iPhone), sometimes I find "something else" in the comments field that Tag 1.0.1 didn't show

some more glitches:

- can't calculate Replay Gain for 24-176.4 files (tried with FLACs)
- "Comment" field shows as "Description" in "Tag 0.41 (this may be the reason why "new Tag" doesn't show some "Comments" that Tag 0.41 shows)

For FLAC the DESCRIPTION tag is the de facto comment tag. There is no actual standard published, but FLAC uses the same tags as Ogg Vorbis: http://www.xiph.org/vorbis/doc/v-comment.html

I'll look into the RG calculation issue.

... so... may this be the reason why Tag 1.0.1 doesn't show *Comment* field(s) that Tag 0.41 shows?
I have no idea what tagging software Qobuz.com is using, but opening their FLACs with Tag 0.41 I see *Comments* not shown by Tag 1.0.1
Foobar too (run in Windows using Parallels) shows them just fine

thanks for looking into RG

... please also check RG calculation for 24-88.2 (AIFF) tracks: it's *not* working

thanks

I've confirmed the 176.4 RG bug, and have a fix pending. I will check out 88.2 while I"m at it!

thanks, Stephen

and... whilst at fixing stuff... could you please also check why iTunes does not import the "Grouping" tag from aiffs? ;-)
(it's empty, after importing tracks in iTunes, but it is not in original files)
