... by Foobar2000 (running under Parallels 7.x): every "tag field" is just empty! :-0
ID3 Editor (Mac OS version) displays a "can't read file" alert then crashes
and I suspect this also explains why, when I tried Amarra in playlist mode, no tag was showing: just the filenames :-/
something deeply wrong here! :-/
EDIT: Fission too doesn't see any tag!
Aiff tags written by Tag are unreadable...
Re: Aiff tags written by Tag are unreadable...
This occurs only for AIFF?
Re: Aiff tags written by Tag are unreadable...
... since I'm ripping once more my whole CD collection to AIFF... I don't know if it also applies to other file formats
for sure right after ripping (using XLD) all is fine: the instant I edit tags in Tag the file crashes ID3 Editor and doesn't show any tag in Foobar :-/
all is fine in iTunes and *Mac only* apps (Decibel, Audirvana, Enqueue). oh... wait... Swinsian couldn't load *some* (not all) of those files
and if you find what's wrong... I need, now, "a tool" to fix all my already (re)ripped files :'-(

*WAIT*!!!!
... seems the culprit is not Tag, I'm sorry
what I described only happens with tracks purchased from Qobuz.com, not with those ripped from my CDs
I believe there's some "funny" tag, that Tag doesn't show (remember I asked you to make it at least display *every embedded tag?
I'll send you one of those tracks by PM, should you care to have a look
really and deeply sorry!
(yesterday I was dealing only with my Classical music collection that includes many albums purchased online)

Re: Aiff tags written by Tag are unreadable...
I was thinking that this didn't make sense, and I'm glad Tag isn't at fault.
Re: Aiff tags written by Tag are unreadable...
... found what the issue is: some apps (probably most "cross-platform" ones) only can read files with the ".aiff" (2 "f") extension
all my purchased AIFFs have, instead, an ".aif" (1 "f") extension. never noticed before :-/
thanks to James, Swinsian developer, for pointing me in the right direction
(Swinsian is not cross-platform and James said it's just a bug that he will amend very soon)
