Missing Artwork on Beatles Green Apple Rubber Soul

Post by pws442 » Fri Jan 20, 2012 8:39 pm

I have seen posts that the meta data for the (FLAC) files from Rubber Soul on the Beatles Green Apple USB drive is missing. Well, I used Media Monkey to (painfully) get the tracks, artists, year, album set OK, and the artwork shows for the individual files in MM. However, in Decibel, I do not get the Rubber Soul album cover at the start of those songs. The other 212 songs in the ordered playlist all display the artwork. The MP3s from that same jump drive show in iTunes. Is there something special about album vs song artwork?

Finder only shows its FLAC image, nothing for any file for that matter.

Very confused

If you open one of the FLAC files in question with Tag does the album artwork show up?

I do not see Tag displaying any of the artwork in any of the FLAC files in my collection. (All 7K+ work but Rubber Soul on the Beatles Green Apple USB drive)

Perhaps I am totally ignorant in how Tag functions?

I realized after I posted (too late) that the version of Tag with album art support hasn't been released yet. So sorry for the bad idea.

The easiest way to see what metadata the file has is either send me a copy to look at, or use the metaflac command line tool. I'll be happy to send you a copy of metaflac. Using it requires a small amount of command line interaction.

I've been "command lining" since the Earth cooled. Thanks.

Excellent, most OS X users haven't and it can be quite intimidating. If you PM me I will send you a copy of metaflac.
