Using Decibel to play iTunes Shared Music?

Post by mbrennwa » Tue Jun 28, 2011 12:04 pm

Dear all

Is it possible to play Music from a shared iTunes library (i.e. on a different computer) using Play? That would be cool!

Cheers

As long as file sharing is enabled, you should be able to mount the HD of the "other" computer. Navigate to the location of the files stored on that computer that you want to play (check the itunes folder in Music for starters) and drag and drop them into the decibel window. You might want to enable memory play for this.

Your suggestion might work, but that's not what I meant. My question was if it is possible to use Decibels built-in iTunes support to play music from a Playlist (or Library) shared by iTunes on a different computer (i.e. using iTunes' Music Sharing thingy).

Right now that isn't possible, sorry. I'm not sure how iTunes does its sharing so I don't know how feasible this would be as a feature.
