What are the best WAV settings

Post by peejee » Tue Mar 15, 2011 1:54 pm

What are the bet settings for making perfect CD rips in WAV format from standard audio CD's.

There are two choices in to make MAX

1. Ripping WAVE (core audio) Liniare PCM PCM 16 bit Little endian integer
2. Ripping WAV (Microsoft) lipsndfile Signed 16 bit PCM

Or should I choose a higher resolution like 20 or 24 bit for standard 16 bit cd?

regards Peter

16 bit is what you want, since that is the source depth for CDDA. Using Core Audio or libsndfile as the writer shouldn't matter- the files will come out the same in either case.
