Plextor 230 still not working in b11

The read offset is correctly determined and the drive spins up, but nothing is read, and I get an "Input Output" error message.
Is there any information I could supply for this problem?

I have a hunch this is a C2 problem- does disabling C2 in the Inspector window fix the issue?
